Mesh rugs will give the most airflow and the coolest mesh is the Rambo Protector - the unique yarn is fantastic for Australia. It's also the strongest mesh rug on the market, having a similar tear strength to a turnout rug. What a combination!
Closed-weave or cotton type sheets will give the highest UV blockage due to being closed weave but you may not get the same level of airflow so it depends on your horse, your location for climate/temps and what are the highest priorities for you. The coolest cotton is the Rambo Natura - 100% hemp and organic cotton blend.
For the strongest closed-weave, look to the Amigo Ripstop Hoody or the Aussie Allrounder sheets, these are unlikely to be suitable in 30 degrees and above and possibly lower temps for some horses.
